For the last 2 nights my evenings on the Internet browsing blogs in front of the TV have been momentarily interrupted.  These 2 evenings  bats (one on each night) have come circling into my living room.  This in turn prompts a semi-hysterical response of screaming and yelling from me to my husband.  Earlier this week the local news started reporting that the bats in our area have started turning up with rabies.  So I’ve got something else to worry about while I watch my ever so brave husband attempt to whack the bat out of its circular flight, pick it up while it’s stunned, and then dispose of it outside.  Yes we kill the bats that enter our house.  I know all about how bats eat mosquitoes and other critters. So the first 2 bats that came into our house I asked my husband to release back outside.  Within an hour the little booger had found it’s way back into our house.  So now we kill them.  It’s sad, I know, but since these guys are nocturnal they like to gain entrance to our abode around 2 or 3 in the morning.  It’s a very unsettling feeling to wake up to the sound of bat wings flapping.

Any one have a great idea about how to keep bats out of our house?
